Obama is coming to Canberra and Darwin

Obama's vehicles arrived today from the USA in a US Airforce Globemaster military plane.
Question will Canberra airport and Darwin airport be hell going through on his arrival and departure at those airports. Is it true F18 will fly 24/7 around canberra and Darwin during his stay

His aircraft will be using the RAAF terminal on the other side of the airport...

I would hope to see little real congestion.. except for the actual times the airport>Parliament House (or wherever) transfers occur... and the AFP seem to have those procedures down pat....

I'll let you know what it's like - in the afternoon at least - I'll be out at the new Business park on the old RAAF base tomorrow...

Apparently his driver has been in Canberra for over a month, learning all the escape routes...

... if anyone is there, you might notice a series of taxi/chauffeur teams, with big X's and Y's etc decals on the window - these vehicles have been contracted to ferry around the entourage.

Ye gods I hope not...

Last time a POTUS visited we where living about 5km away from the US embassy. Had exactly 0 sleep that night as about once every 5 minutes a military jet of some description (it was dark and I was tired, so looking at the sky trying to id it was not high on my priorities) would fly overhead.

I still have no idea what such a jet could do in the event of an attack...
