Mine too! I found my first Uniqlo in Tokyo and spent an hour there, then lost the best part of an afternoon at Uniqlo in Kyoto. Since then I have ordered a few things online, there are some stores in Australia, but they are not near where I live.

Our morning at Peterhof was in torrential rain and high winds. It was still spectacular but your photos really do the place justice drron! Loving being back in the Baltic in the sun

Totally agree RB. I'll have to have a practice before we head off on our quickie seven day cruise to PNG in five weeks.

There is a hydrofoil service from St.P.

Yes, we arrived on the hydrofoil. I loved it. They use these same old Russian ones up the Mekong delta to Saigon from Vung Tau.

We had some time before the time of our admission to the Palace so walked around to the front gates and a brief stroll in it's park.

Once again although the line was short with only 2 groups of 16-20 people we were taken to the front and entered without waiting.

Catherine's Palace: Not bad for a doer-upper.

Did your guide mention that the fountains at Peterhof are all gravity-fed? I have my suspicions these days, but if you think about it ... 1700s construction ...

Yes we were told that all the fountains were gravity fed.Certainly they get enough rain to replenish any supply at higher levels.As one local put it-"St.Petersburg weather is 8 months of anticipation followed by 4 months of disappointment."

So an answer here-I took a video of the turning on of the fountains.As I pan you can see a fellow seeming to open the valves suggesting gravity feeding but panning back you notice a small generator has started that seems to suggest gravity needs a bit of help now-
