Slightly different position for y'self cgoh, in that you're already Diamond and have a D-line number to call. Out of curiosity how did you frame the question?

Regards,

BD

i asked her when does my diamond membership expires and do I need to stay any further to requal.

Interesting reply. If she's right (hopefully she is) then is sems HH may have an unwritten policy re: requal for diamonds. Love to know what the parameters are!

I fell significantly short on requal in 2014, and looks like I have been comped for 2015.

Given status expires end of March in terms of the benefits how have you worked out the comp, new card?

Strange. You maintain 2014 status until 31/3/15. New 2015 status would show within a couple of days from 1/4/15.

Ah ok, I didn't realise it lasts till then, I thought the benefits ended with the requal deadline, ie: calendar year. When I checked my account in early Jan it said my status was being reassessed, now it says Diamond and talks about 2016. I got confused, apologies.

re: Oh, woe! [finish year 4 nights short of Diamond]

Where exactly do you see if you have been comped etc for 2015.
I have fallen just short of Gold requal (on Stays)

Counter has reset to Zero, and it talks about Retain Gold, Up to Platinum etc21

You don't. So far, AFAIK there has been just one hint of a comp and that was over the phone and that won't yet be proven correct or incorrect (until April). What you see on your account is correct. The status bar will show your expected status after the March 31 grace period finishes (and you will know how many stays/nights/base points you'll accrue before then to add onto that status indicator).

Hilton hasn't been known for comping those who fall just short (I don't believe), but things have changed a bit this year, so who knows.

No need to comp status when they hand out Diamond status fast track for 4 stays/10 nights. ;)

Not to this little black duck, they don't!

What's the secret, JohnK??

I thought that Gold status was awarded for 4 stays/10 nights.

Not unless on a fast track such as mvp.

Normally Gold status is earned with 20 stays / 40 nights.

Silver status is earned with 4 stays / 10 nights

I was thinking of fast track. I'm hoping to give it a go in Melbourne in the middle of the year. My gold status expires at the end of March.
