Oman Air new business class

Just booked a great business class fare for end January Adel-Milan with MH and Omar Air (have a very easy overnight stay at Sama Sama Klia hotel on the way over). Have flown Oman before and was very happy - looking at seat maps, the Oman flights are on the old 1-2-1 config in business. ANy feedback on these?

I flew on the old 1-2-1 configured A330 from FRA-MCT in June 2019. It was an excellent flight. The seat is basically a circa-2010 generation first class seat. These seats don't have some of the more modern features of the Apex Suite in Oman's other A330s and 787s (e.g. the IFE screen is lower resolution, touchpad controls are older generation) but it is extremely comfortable and more spacious than the other product. Particularly more so than the other A330 config, which has the same number of seats across as the 787, despite the narrower cabin.

One interesting feature with this config that I hadn't seen on other A330s was window-side storage bins, like upper deck business on the 747.

Agree… the 1-2-1 are very spacious and comfortable. I would book them again without issue.

When I last flew on one of these I was upgraded to first (don't know why, but I am Gold with Sindbad). That was really nice, but the business seats are great too.

Both the old and new config are really good, so go for it..

I agree, no issues with seats nor service on my flights in July, I will happily fly them again.
I want to have a stopover next time as well.

I agree with the above re Oman Air, except in respect of 'regional' routes. Not much chop.

$5900 return - was looking at closer to 10K but apparently some of these cheaper fares are now coming online, I assume as the demand is ramping up and airlines are getting back into gear - hopefully there will be some more pricing competition again!

Flatbeds - also trade as Qflyer (great for maximising oneworld status points) - connected to travelworld so not a small outfit. Have been using them for over 5 years. With so many flight changes/cancellations etc I find it worth having an agent to deal with it. I gather agent commission from airlines like Qantas has been screwed down hard so there are few agent deals to be had on some airlines
