One-sector flight turned into two: do I get points and Status Credits?

Points are based on how much you paid for the ticket.

Velocity members earn 5 Velocity Points per $1 spent on all eligible domestic fares3, Trans-Tasman5 and International Short Haul flights6.

Precisely. that the original flight was cancelled and replaced by the airline with two other sectors wont mean you'll get the points and SC's for the re-routed sectors.

I've noticed that when there's routing changes it takes longer to post automatically. It seems to take 1 weekish from my recent experience.

You dont get any extra points (as it's based on the price paid). You get the extra SC's and eligible sectors.
Very handy to know; thanks! So if anything doesn't show up by the time Easter is over, then I should start worrying again. I don't mind missing out on the extra points and SC, I just want the original 1495 points and 80 SC so I can be Silver next time I fly haha. Definitely won't say no to an extra 115 SC though!

Is it a Virgin thing? This is a bit of revelation
No, I’ve had it happen many times on both VA and QF.
The last time it happened on QF back in January my direct ADL-CNS J flight was changed to ADL-SYD-CNS and both legs received TP’s on my BAEC account. This Thursday our direct ADL-CBR J flight has been changed to ADL-MEL-CBR and once again I’ll receive TP’s for both legs

I've always worked on the basis that you get the SC's and points for what you booked and paid for regardless of any re-routing or Op-up/down. Seems I may have been wrong all along.

Good news!

Virgin replied to my FB message and fixed it up for me. I received 1496 points and 195 SC (as I think just about everyone said). Hello Silver! Should be Gold this time next month!

Thank you everyone for answering my questions; glad I joined AFF!
