If you’re concerned about maintaining QF elite status there’s a fantastic opportunity for you. Royal Jordanian is extending a status match program, allowing you to secure the equivalent of QF Gold status simply by holding top-tier status with certain hotel loyalty programs.

This article from the excellent UK based 'Head for Points' explains the whole process here

As markis10 points out below this offer appears to only be available to residents of the following countries :Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, UAE and UK.

Good luck if you have ID from one of those countries

Residency ID check mentioned 😞
I'm currently based in the UK, and applied for this as I'm shortly due to lose QF status due to being unable to do 4 QF flights easily.

It used to be possible to get them from London to Dubai on QF or a codeshare on Emirates, but now I think the closest option is London to Singapore and maybe some JQ flights from there.

Whilst it hasn't updated yet it says approved, and may take up to 5 days for the status to show on RJ. It said during the application process that residency ID would be required but it certainly didn't ask me for any.

The company that runs the status match does matching for lots of hotels and airlines, so it is possible they may have access to address data from there. Not that it would have mattered to me if they had asked as I'm in an eligible country.

I'm only just over half way to QF Lifetime Gold, and if the rules don't change it would probably take me another 5 years to get there.

After the recent BA changes, I think it is likely QF will do something similar in the next year or two.

Not sure if I should keep crediting to QF in the faint hope the lifetime QF gold target doesn't change in the next few years or if I should start to just credit to RJ.

Well they've got to keep the Americans out who get Hilton Diamond status from the back of cereal boxes.
Where do I get me one of those cereal boxes ?? ;)

Just about to lose my Diamond Status after a number of years ...

Regards,

BD
