Hi there. I thought some on here may find this interesting. This is my flying and reward miles (points) year to date. I'm platinum on both Sky Team (Flying Blue) and One World (Qantas). Both are rewarding on average at 252%, however I find that you need to spend less points with Flying Blue than Qantas for similar reward flights....

I have some long haul flights coming up on both so will see how it all ends up at the end of the year.

Same same but different!

Have you compared the burn rates for those miles/points earned? The earn rate alone means nothing without an indication of the burn rate. How far can those 252% earned miles take you in terms of redemptions in economy, business and first class?

Yes good point, and as I stated above, generally I find you need less points for reward flights with Sky Team than with One World.

Example
Flying Blue CDG to FCO (2hr 5 min) = 6,250 points (economy) available almost every day of the year. (QF MEL to BNE = 12,000)
CDG to SYD = 50,000 points (economy) each way (QF = 64,000)

Other than that the main differences I find are;

There are way more flights available for reward redemption on Flying Blue than QF FF (excluding any seat awards).
Flying Blue you can not do upgrades with points.
QF lounges are a lot better than AF/KLM.
