Hi there Guys/Galls,

I'm currently planning a SC run while visiting family in the USA.

With regards to the Visit Nth America fares I am keen to max out the 10 vouchers... My question is can it start from any city?

I am planning on purchasing a F flight into Seattle from Melbourne with first stop Lax as a transit.

Can I start the 10 vouchers from Seattle or does the first flight have to be from Lax my first port in the USA?

Any help is appreciated, as it will allow me 2 extra stops if I can.

Appreciate your help.

George

I suspect that you could start in Seattle (presuming your connections to/from SEA are part of the Qantas ticket from MEL), but perhaps call Qantas (or whichever airline you plan to book with) to confirm this. How much is one of these passes, do you know?

Not sure on pricing yet Matt, waiting to see when I speak with Qantas...

I'd definitely be interested to know once you do find out. That pass could be a very good deal (or a rip-off) depending on the pricing.

Keep in mind that buying regular F tickets on AA is not always that expensive. Occasionally the cost per SC can come down to as low as $2. Routings with lots of connections are the way to go there.

Indeed! I am slamming millage monkey and matrix to squeeze as many >750m flights out the the vouchers... I'll let you know the pricing when I hear back from QF. :)

This is exactly what what I'll be looking in to shortly as well so I'd be really interested in how you go with it

You cannot use Visit Nth America fares for a SC run as they are Y only. Well you could but it would be an uncomfortable run with a poor earn rate. No F allowed.
"Fares are calculated per sector and are exclusive of any taxes and passenger fees (which must be collected separately). Fares are for travel in economy-class cabins and are limited to availability and capacity controls."
