What can i say but WOW. Thanks to kelly at 1cover who i contacted only a few days ago i received a call from Allainz insurance today.

He explained to me that for electrical devices there is a 30% depreciation of goods P/A when making a claim . It is not a replace old for new. He further asked me how often i have used the video camera and i explained to him on the usual family holidays and maybe birthdays if i remember but its only a few mins here and there. He said he could not give me 100% value of the camera . He did reply that he had been contacted by Kelly and she had asked for a review on my behalf. Then he informed me that due to my lack of usage of the camera he could give me 90% value of the camera's total value of $1900 approx $1700 and then extra funds would be transferred into my account by the end of the week.

Im being 100% serious just from Kelly's responding to my thread i received double my payment and im so happy with it of course. I didnt have to pay any fee's or any further investigation fee's like the TID. There is no excess to pay it has to be the best travel insurance policy money can buy right now.

I would love to give Kelly a big hug and thank you (0) im so grateful for her assistance and if anyone has any claims to lodge and not satisfied with the outcome i guarantee you get in contact with this lady and by the end of the week you will be more than happy.

If there is any questions feel free to ask.

Many thanks 1cover and kelly :p:p:p

It depends on the terms of your insurance policy. Some offer replacement cost/value whereby you can claim the full amount to by a new product or equivalent new product to what you lost. While other policies will only give you actual cash value which is what you got. See what the item is selling for second hand. If it is quite a bit more than what they are offering you then I would make an issue of it.
