Just came across this new way to upgrade on ANZ. OneUp Bidding - FlyerTalk Forums
My wife & I are flying to LAX from BNE on 24th of December for 10 days & have booked a "Skycouch" eachway.
Anyone here had any experience/luck with this system ?

Cheers

I spoke to an AIR NZ rep today about some minor changes to my trip & he advised me that the ONEUP bidding scheme was a trial and is now over.

I really wanted to give it a shot, but alas, not to be.
I wonder if it will return in the future?

Cheers

Shame.

Would be interested in your experience with the Skycouch. Could you do a Trip report pls?

I dont think its over, its been expanded and was announced last week:

Direct bookings get OneUp-grades from Air NZ - Airline News - etravelblackboard.com

[h=1]Make us an offer: Air NZ to auction off best seats[/h]

Has anybody heard of any success stories? Would be interested to know how much to bid?

Thanks
Andrew

I just received an email from Air NZ today to bid for an upgrade to Business . I wonder if this is an effort by the airline to get some $$$ instead of granting a free upgrade when the flt is overbooked???

Any clues on what a good bid might be?

My friends mum has had 5 out of 6 successful bids this year! So very happy with their experiences :) mainly on the Auckland - Vancouver legs.
