Oneworld airlines alternatives to Qantas

If you're chasing status and are looking at flying a Star Alliance airline then join the Aegean Airlines program. A rtn trip in Y to London should net you Star Gold.

If you're flying mainly Asia Pacific 4 times a year then I would suggest moving to the Star Alliance network and joining the Asiana *A program over the others.
The main benefits I see are you only need to attain 20k miles for *A Silver (Asiana Gold), 40k miles for *A Gold (Asiana Diamond) over a two year period to reach status, and then you also have a two year period to achieve retention. Miles don't expire for a minimum of 7 ~ 10 years (depending on status).
Upgrade and award flights require a few more miles than some of the others, but if you're more concerned about lounge access and aren't able to make the 50k miles per year as required by most of the programs to retain *A Gold then I think its worth it.

YMMV.
