They usually do have different coughtails on the all day menu. Autumn had about 6.

Negroni is definitely not a pick me up drink, it's a nightcap.

Actually, it’s the quintessential aperitivo.

The Spanish have made an art from of vermut as a pre lunch aperitif and the Italians took that up a notch (or two).

Well that’s the origins but it has also become one of the quintessential night cap coughtails.

Either way both are evening drinks which was my point.

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

New winter breakfast menu out 5th June ‘24 Was this in MEL? I was in the SYD F lounge for breakfast this morning (5th June) and it was still the autumn menu.

I wasn't joking when I said QF couldn't serve it as it's against their policy of limiting drinks to low ABV.

The one time I thought I found an option, a French 75 (which can't possibly be made weak, it's basically champagne with gin and a bit of lemon juice/sugar). But the attendant make the mistake of serving it to me in the RTD bottle, and it was exactly 1.0 standard drinks.

QF wouldn't make you a negroni, let alone one with added mezcal.

I didn’t mind it, although it was quite bitter. @serfty also tried one and after one sip declared it “tastes like dirt”.

Yea I had one in an exclusive Adelaide Bar recently

To say the least I didn’t really like it

Not a great bartender if he thinks Negronis were only invented 25 years ago.

That looks a bit disappointing. Ice from a bulk ice machine.

I find it odd from the country that basically invented coughtails they can often be very lousy at making them.
