My wife and I are looking to book an ATW holiday of about 4-5 weeks duration sometime between mid August and October 2013 using FF points.
We want to travel J all the way if possible. We envisage travelling from Melbourne - Dubai - Athens - Barcelona (or Madrid) - Bora Bora (or Papeete) - Melbourne with stopovers in all four OS destinations. The direction we go is not important (ie happy to go to Bora Bora at the start or end of the trip) and we're open to transits through whatever cities will get the job done.

From my research the sticking point seems to be fitting in the Bora Bora leg using a oneworld airline. LAN seemed to be the obvious choice because they supposedly fly from Madrid to Santiago and on to Papeete but their web site comes up with and "unable to assist" message when I select the flights displayed. The QAN site also doesn't help because with a multi city award search they don't even give Papeete or Bora Bora as a destination option when I try to enter that leg of the trip.

Hopefully someone has encountered, and overcome, this problem before and can share their knowledge ........or are we expecting too much to include Bora Bora and should we pencil in somewhere in the Caribbean instead ?

Thanks in advance

LAN is showing one flight a week to Papeete from Easter Island. Assuming you can even find the award seats on SCL-IPC-PPT and back again it’s a very long detour. Tahiti isn’t really a convenient destination on a oneworld award ticket.

I had a similar routing issue trying to get out of Mauritius as a part of a ATW FF trip. In the end I simply rang the QANTAS FF help desk. They have access to all flights, and they came up with a BA option. I went tp try amnd book online with their proposed solution, but the option didn't come up. Back to teh Help Desk & they booked & confirmed all flight legs (including some advice on swapping a late arrival into JFK). And, either because the option didn't come up, or I was lucky, they didn't charge me the 2500 point fee.
