I’m pleased for you. I have experienced five or six separate occasions of flight losses in the past 12 months.
I'm sympathetic to your experience.
I'm just illustrating that it is not all doom and gloom, and provide some balance of the reality, especially for the newer members looking at this award.
Even if it doesnt suit the narrative of "as soon as you touch a OWA all your flights evaporate" lol
 
Why do the ticket numbers need to be the same?
Because it means some flights are on an old/expired/invalid ticket number.

When you call into Qantas, they will know what to do as long as you get a competent agent. Just say there's been a flight change and it appears the booking needs to be reticketed. They'll be able to see it on their end.
 
Just lost 2 more flights waiting for the 2 previous missing ones to reappear. They refused to ticket the remaining flights because they were waiting to hear about reinstatement of the other ones - they told me they had until 28 January to ticket them - seems this was not correct.

Thanks. Didn't realise you can link separate PNRs. Just book and call up? Does it matter if the OWCA is partially flown?
Can't comment about impacts to OWCA, but to 'link' contact the call centre or I've done it via Messenger (pre COVID). I'm not sure if it is a formal linking of the bookings or a comment in each booking referring to the other.
 
Just wondering.. out of interest more than anything, has anyone shown up to/or know somebody that has turned up to a leg of their already commenced OWCA that showed up on their itinerary but that individual leg hadn’t been ticketed?
 
CX does not fly to AMM. Try routing through BKK.
It appears that RJ have reduced this service to 5 days a week. This is the second sector, is there any need for me to resolve this quickly to avoid ticketing issues or do I have time to consider options. As there's no change to accept I assume re-ticketing will not have been triggered?
 
Seeking advice on ticketing for OWA already booked if anyone is able to help.
Received email from Qantas advising changed landing time for a Finnair Flight (pushed back 15 mins from 1.45pm to 2pm, take off time remains the same). Accepted change via link in email from Qantas but no new e-ticket arrived. New landing time is listed in CMT with matching e-ticket number for all flights but the number remained the same as prior to this change.
Called Qantas twice after new e-ticket did not arrive after 24 hours. Both times told the new flights are ticketed and everything is fine. Both staff emailed me the text version of the itinerary with e-ticket numbers and correct flight times and said the new e ticket has been issued and will arrive at some point.
Finnair also emailed me re the change so I accepted via their link as well and they immediately issued e-tickets listing the same e-ticket numbers and the correct flight landing time.
When I log in to Qantas and email myself the itinerary it lists the same e-ticket numbers (as these have not changed) but the old flight landing time.
My questions is - do I need to worry or is it possible for a flight landing time to be adjusted and the same e-ticket number remain valid/current?

How long has this taken?

I have had the same with a Finnair 5min arrival change.
Qantas email advising of change received 11pm 17 Jan
Accepted change QF 9am 18 Jan
Also accepted change Finnair 10am 18 Jan
Received AY e-ticket immediately (no change to 081 e-ticket number)
Received QF e-ticket 2pm 20 Jan (new e-ticket 081 number from previous)

So it's all booked! Late Sept thru to mid Oct.

Each leg is a different booking because I just couldn't get the *&!@%$! QF multi-city tool to work. Every time it just chucked a wobbly and displayed an error.

SYD - TLV on EK
TLV - LHR on QF (QFF reward redemption, flying on BA metal so a codeshare)
LHR - SYD ON BA.

All flights in PE.
Question. The final flight from London to Sydney has a couple of hours layover in Changi.
The SIN - SYD leg is a code share with QF, so we're jumping on QF82 in a A330 which doesn't have PE seating, just J and Y. They've lumped us into Y.
What would be the chances of an upg to J?
How would I go about it? 2 pax.

You are posting in the wrong thread, your booking is not a OWA. You have no chance of an upgrade from Y to J on a BA ticket on a QF flight unless you pay for it. Sometimes you can ask the check in agent for paid upgrades but QF are likely to have already made them available to their own pax.

I suggest that a ticket re-issue wouldn't be necessary for this scenario. Most likely a ticket revalidation as no price or flight number changes. I've had a few similar changes to my itinerary and the tickets were not re-issued. The link to confirm in the QF email never works for me, so I end up call them up anyway.

Once issued, the "coupons" (think of the old paper tickets) of a ticket are effectively currency to carriers. They represent monetary or points value. So they need to be traded in for a newly issued new ticket/coupons that match the new itinerary and pricing. To me this is not an itinerary change - no price/routing or number of flights have changed. Thats my understanding not confirmed knowledge though.
 
Can anyone point me to the relevant QF term/s that limits this award to 16 sectors please? I've seen it discussed in this thread, but can't locate it in the terms.

I'm specifically looking for wording to confirm it applies to flight sectors and therefore excludes surface sectors. I'm aware the miles will still count.

In my case I'm planning to end the award in a different city to my point of origin. I know miles back to origin will be counted, but want to know if it will be counted as a sector.

Also, the AFF article linked in post #1 of the thread indicates that QF will only allow two surface sectors? Has anyone seen this as a published rule? If so, can you point me to it please?

Hi there. I am half way through booking my tickets for a 132k OWA. I booked outgoing to Asia and Europe for Dec 2023 and plan in Feb to book the rest to keep going to US/CAN/JAP to return in Jan 2024.
One query I had was info I read on this site:

  • The whole itinerary will be priced based on the highest cabin in the whole itinerary. So if you have 14 Business Class flights and one connection in First Class, your whole booking will reprice to the higher First Class rate. Don’t do it!
I plan to book all economy to get the 132k each flight plus taxes,etc. I have had though to book one flight segment as premium economy as there no other economy flights left.

My question is:

If the above websites ‘rules’ is true, Does this mean that now all other economy flights I book will have premium economy taxes, etc to pay at the higher cost?

It also says that:

Here are the caps for the oneworld reward. If you meet all the rules, then this is the most you’ll have to pay:

  • Economy: 132,400 Qantas Points per person (+ taxes)
  • Premium Economy: 249,600 Qantas Points per person (+ taxes)
  • Business: 318,000 Qantas Points per person (+ taxes)
  • First: 455,000 Qantas Points per person (+ taxes)
So if I have one segment premium economy will that mean that I will have to pay 249,000 per person even though all other flights we will be economy or is (if this is true) just the extra taxes,etc?

Any advice on this will be really helpful. Thanks so much.

13.2.4 A Reward Flight Itinerary must contain no more than 16 Segments (including any Surface Segments).

Here’s the rule that applies to your situation…

14.5.6 Where mixed-class travel is booked in a oneworld Classic Flight Reward, the whole Itinerary will be calculated using the Qantas Points level for the highest class booked.

It has been 5 days since all this happened @cjd600. Still no new e ticket number from Qantas but all flights listed in CMT with correct timings and old e ticket number. Flights are all still listed in CMT including MH flights so if they haven't dropped off after 5 days I'm hoping this means I'm ticketed and all is okay (but still checking all flights are still there each day). Thanks for your response.

Have just booked another leg of my trip from LAX - KIX with JL.

It hasn't been ticketed yet and I'm thinking the reason is that she hasn't charged enough taxes. I was charged $44 aud each whereas online it shows it should be around $520 aud per person.

Thoughts on whether this is correct and if should I call now or wait 24 hours?
