If you've added / removed or amended a flight, you should be issued a new / different e-ticket number (ie. shouldn't be identical to the old one).

I believe the only case of the same / an identical e-ticket number should be if there's an involuntary schedule change (ie. change of timing etc).

That's a bit concerning. The thing that helps reassure me I guess is that the new flights on the new E-ticket appear correct.
 
If all looks correct even despite the e-ticket number being the same, it should be okay.

If not already, do also check on the Royal Jordanian website as well - using your Qantas issued reference number.

If it’s the same ticket number I don’t think the ticket has been reissued. Which it will need to be.

The 24/48/72 hour mark is where you’ll find out if any partner airlines have ‘auto cancelled’ because ticketing wasn’t completed in time.

IIRC wasn’t there an issue with the QF site sending old ticket numbers if you request your itinerary be re-sent? Best to look at the royal jordanian site to see if the ticket number is indeed new.
 
As @MEL_Traveller mentions if you've added or made other flight changes that used to result in a new e-Ticket being issued with a new number.

@NoobTraveller try the Finnair website that used to show all the ticket numbers issued to that PNR, use the drop down arrow on the right circled in red. You can email the latest version to yourself by pressing E-ticket Receipt.

I keep getting an error message even trying to retrieve the booking with RJ.

Not specifically to do with the mechanics of a OWA but it does involve one next year .
I'm flying Business Class SYD-LHR on QF to connect to BA onto Oslo .
The QF flight arrives at 0615 and BA one departs at 0750.
Both flights on the one ticket.
From my reading , both the arrival and departure terminal is T3 and there is no immigration required only a security check . Baggage will be thru checked. Next flight to OSL departs at 1140 hrs but seats available in economy .
Expert Flyer says MCT is 60 minutes for this connection and I have 95 minutes.
The big unknown is the chance of a late arrival at LHR .
I may have to soak up the Economy class seats on the later flight.
I guess I could rely on a backup on the later flight if i misconnected on the earlier one .
It could be that if QF realised a misconnect was gong to eventuate , it would pro actively put us on the later BA flight.
Your houghts please .

Sure, your QF flight might arrive late but if you miss your OSL connection you can spend a few hours in the lounge.
Plus, it's only a 2hr flight to OSL and BA's J seats on intra-Europe flights are just Y with the centre seat blocked so you wouldn't be missing out on much

There may be no award seats in J at the moment, but if you misconnect they’ll put you in any J seat. Always the chance it is physically full, but you’d hope there’s a seat or two left.

On a similar note, I’m connecting from Europe to Manchester via LHR. Haven’t actually done a domestic connection in the UK before. Is there any form of baggage check at Heathrow or is it just checked through to final destination? My connection is only about 90 mins.

And BA are constantly adjusting the number of J seats on a flight by shifting the divider. What was Y can become J anyway.

I would have thought if you were travelling on one ticket using airlines that interline bags , you would not have to collect your bags and recheck them in .

Correct. Just wasn’t sure about customs arrangements in the UK (bit like routing SIN-MEL-SYD requires bag collection).

What happens if the first flight is late? Will they put us on the next available? Would prefer Business class so am thinking of booking this and changing for business class tickets if they come along

I’ve been to ORD a few times. It’s a bit tight. You’d be ‘protected’ if it’s the same PNR. Yes, ‘next available’ flight for connection if delayed, if that suits your plans.

Later connections may well be ORD-DFW (or CLT)-YVR. Maybe something worth looking into as that may affect your plans (especially if having another missed connection in DFW or CLT

Unfortunatley nothing direct according to Multi-City search. There are options but all 1 stop and via LAX, DFW, YYC and with WestJet generally but AA through DFW. I was trying to avoid non OneWorld companies so AA is on the only option at this stage.
