Woolworths targets supply chain, customer loyalty gains

The article above mentions proposed changes to Everyday Rewards similar to what have been suggested in the survey.

I wonder whether the article is based on press releases from Woolworths or rumours started by the survey.

Interesting article - as I said earlier in the thread - seems to be a case of Woolworths looking at their own costs and efficiencies, as Qantas is just another supplier so they can expect to come under pressure to deliver more points for less $$ or possibly be shown the door in the Woolworths loyalty ecosystem.

I have just done a Woollies survey on Insurance particularly car insurance.Options for loyalty points with QFF or wish cards or discounts with Woollies partners.seemed to be slanted a little away from QFF points.

interesting. Received an email 2 days ago about a EDR promo coming up with lots of FF points on offer - rather vague email i must say so not sure of any details yet

WW own a variety of discussion forums including one called "At home". Many Everyday Rewards members received invitations to be members of these forums but there might be a way to join without an EDR invitation.

One of the recent surveys discussed proposed changes to the points system so it sounds like they are getting close to making some of the changes suggested earlier in this thread.

If the proposed system goes ahead, members will get the chance to convert their points, once they get to 2000,into either QFF points, money off at the register, WW evouchers or other types of rewards such as cinema vouchers.

The proposed conversion is 2000 Woolworths points for 1000 QFF points. The money off at the register and the evouchers conversion rate is 2000 points for $10 value. The cinema option and other similar redemptions would possibly offer $20 value for 2000 points

The proposed points earn would be 1 point per $1 but there was no indication whether this would start at $1 or $30.

I would shop at coles if they changed the points earn to:

1) "banking of points" until 2k is reached.

2) After spending $62,000 ($31 per point!), it downgrades to only 1,000 QFF. (SPEND $62K, EARN "$31K WORTH"!).

Yep, that would sure be a deal breaker.
Half QF points at Woolies versus better selection and slightly cheaper prices at Coles.

The only reason I shop at Woolies over Coles is for the QF points - thats what brought me over from Coles a few years ago when EDR was launched

doesn't sound like a great 'enhancement' to the program

As I posted in the other thread so long as I got the same value (no minimums to convert, banked points don't expire etc) then I don't mind how they want to enhance it for those that want vouchers. Heck, even lowering the moment the points earn kicks in from $30 to $1 would be awesome. But anything that screws my earning potential will make me shop less. I've already cut back at Woolworths thanks to a lack of offers. I'm quite ready to crazily but **** I don't need if they just offered me points. But I guess I'm a particular kind of customer.

interestingly received an offer of either 250 points for $50 spend, or $10 off for $50 spend.
They must be experimenting with discount offers in lieu of point offers.

I think you might be correct there. EDR/WW are doing lots of experiments with different types of offers at the moment. I'm going to try to make as much money out of it as possible.

As I have said in the past I would much rather discount offers than QFF points.

And no need to shop at Coles.

How do you get offers? I joined up back in December when Woolies finally opened up near us. Been splitting the shopping between Coles and Woolies to see who gives the best offers, but I have not seen one from Woolies yet! Coles are sending me a couple each week.

I log into the website basically every day to see what my offers are and woolies always says "You currently have no offers. Every time you scan your card we learn a little more about how to reward you best. Don't forget to scan your card every time you shop and check back for great offers on your favorite products."

Am I looking in the wrong spot?

I'd check Everyday Rewards had the right email address for you. Fill out some of the demographic information which helps EDR figure out what type of offers you want. Usually you get a welcome offer soon after joining. Did you receive this? The offers don't always appear in the account. The most reliable way of getting offers is email.

Since my initial foray into online shopping, I seem to get almost weekly $5, $10 or $15 discounts for 50/100/150/200 spend from WW directly, as well as promotions via EDR for bonus points at a spend threshold, and a huge number of EDR "special offers" for Big W, though the last of these are almost always a waste of time.

I don't know whether fly buys has been worthwhile to the historical coles/myer group, but "woolworths" points to me wouldn't encourage me to hit that extra spend threshold - i'd just view it as another "eventual cashback" reward, lumped in there with fly buys, CBA Rewards points, Myer one, etc.

Thank you for that. I put in an email address I hardly ever check. It is used for sites I think will send junk emails. I don't recall getting a welcome offer though.

I just checked and I did have an offer for this week. Seems to be the first one though. Spend $120 for 500 bonus points. That's ridiculous as that is double my spend! Flybuys have said spend $20-30 more for 750 bonus points, or they just say triple points on my biggest shop. These are easy to achieve as I just spend less at Woolies.

Thanks again for the help.
