No, have a look every now and then when I want something, see the QF pricing and head over to David Jones which is like a discount store, relatively speaking.

There's actually a price ceiling given vouchers available, with department stores like DJ's and Myers being good comparison points.

Simple comparison

Myer Gift Voucher - 13500 QF pts = $100
Ipod classic 160GB at Myer = $326
QF pts required to purchase using Myer Gift Voucer 44010
QF pts required to purchase direct from QFF store 50500

6,500 pts for the convenience of getting online ......

Similary comparisons with say breville appliance, I picked a toaster that values at 20000 QFF pts, can purchase for $121.... $121 in voucher terms is 16,335. Put simply you are better off getting vouchers from QFF (even if you can't get a voucher for the store you want, just get one for woolworths... after all we all need to eat).

Don't know when you last made a UM booking but as you can't do such a booking over the net QF will match the internet price so nobody is disadvantaged dollarwise for doing so.
.

But that's the point. As you can't book online you are disadvantaged as you're forced to use the call centre - and they don't waive the call centre booking fee even though you can't book it online. As a result you have to pay $27.50 more than the internet price.

odysseus,

Are you stating from experience because this is contrary to what ozbeachbabe is saying :?:

Yes, it is from experience - hence the reason I initially suggested that you would probably pay more even when the fare is not available online, since you do in this equivalent case.

I didn't take the post above as contrary though - by "matching the internet price" I took her statement to only refer to whatever price is advertised on the web is also available as the base ticket price - but you are still charged the surcharge for booking through the call centre.

I had to call QF res today re another matter & I asked them about AUD27.50 booking fee for UM bookings. They confirmed that this fee is waived in the case of UM bookings and has been the case for at least 6 months.

If you are told otherwise when making a booking I would ask to speak to a res supervisor who should
confirm this to be the case.

So, in short you are not worse off or financially disadvantaged for doing a booking over the phone with QF.

Cheers

Oz
