It has been 3 months since I proposed a monthly Gold Coast (OOL) drinks night to gather Gold Coast members for drinks. The first night was a success, but then things got busy and it has now been 3 months! I'd like to re-boot my idea and have moved the next such evening to a Sunday, to include an AFF member based North of Brisbane who is visiting that weekend.

Same location as last time, the bar is called 'Aloha Bar & Dining' in Broadbeach. It is located at 18 Main Place, Broadbeach. A small one-way lane parallel to the Gold Coast Highway. If driving, you can park for 3 hours free of charge at the Oasis shopping centre, before walking down to the bar, otherwise there is a parking lot underneath the Phoenician Resort (off Main Place) with parking available for $5. Conveniently, this car parks entrance is directly opposite the bar.

If coming via public transport, Uber will drop you off right outside or there's a tram stop in the centre of the highway, almost opposite the location.

What you're looking for is a graffitied building with a (big) fridge out the front of it and cars parked down the side of it. You walk between the cars to the back of the building, where the entrance is hidden behind some palms. You'll know you're in the right place because there will be golden palms spray painted onto the sidewalk, like a trail of breadcrumbs.

Same as last time, I will be getting there from 6, as happy hour runs from 6 - 8.

I'm told Happy Hour on Sundays is 5-7, but I'll still be there around 6.

Happy Hour includes $5 beers, $4 light beers, $10 coughtails and a $40 treasure chest (serves 4).

Sam, please pop me back to Bronze. Have accepted a birthday invitation in BNE. Oops!

Will try to make one of these nights soon but for now my daughter misses her dad.

Think I will be at Surfers on 28 October.

I regularly head to Aloha, but usually Wednesday nights.

Happy to meet you there on the 28th (a Friday) but not going anywhere near Surfers on a Friday night! :p

Casino? Free drinks. I need to see if I can get complimentary hotel booking. Could be next night. I'll keep in touch.
