F seating

Anyone been on this aircraft recently? Thoughts? How does it compare to the 738 F seating?

(Alternative routing sees 2x738s via DFW from LAX)

I like the single seat on the port side in F. I had 1A and it was very pleasant (For AA). I honestly wouldn't care 1 over the other. Timing would be more my concern.

Had substitutions for scheduled A319 twice recently when in USA. One cr900, one e175.

Seating is fine. The overhead bins in F on the A side are useless. OTOH they could be used for some of the FA required things... which sometimes limit the useful bins on the "DEF" side. If I remember correctly, gate check on both 76 seaters goes into hold baggage which is reclaimed only at the carousel.

Maybe I'll annoy customer service... if I am not wandering

CRJ 700/900 are the popular regional jets used in the US and elsewhere.

F seats are usually like the 767 Qf J seats
left side has single seats

Overhead compartment very small - only fit small laptop bags
The airlines that fly these planes will gatecheck your carryon for free

I try to be the last to board because your gatechecked bag will hopefully be the last to be loaded and therefore first to be unloaded at the other end. This is about the only time I lag towards the rear when boarding a US aircraft. (Otherwise is straight to the front of your zone quicker than you can say AFF in the battle for overhead compartment space)

I try to get row 2 as row 1 is a bulkhead row and therefore no underseat storage.

interestingly the stairs to cabin takes you past the coughpit so you can see the pilots at work.

LOTFAP F class mainly has no lounge access unless you are a high tier status pax or a pub member or travelling transcon (flat beds sometimes on transcon)
But its great for SC harvesting at $2-4 /SC sometimes cheaper

My only niggling doubt is that the pilots and cabin crew of these small jets get paid cough*-all and they are sometimes based in a city thousands of miles from home and so have to live in crash pad dorms, and they are mainly the younger low hour types who are doing it for the love of flying or in the hope of something better.
A salve to my doubt is that these pilots want a successful take off landing ratio of 1.0 just like their pseudo royalty big jet pilot buddies.

So in the LOTFAP its an interplay between BFOD in COC, BTOD, SCR . Aircraft type choice in the distance unless close to preferred time of departure.

BFOD = best fare of day
COC = cabin of choice,
BTOD= best time of day
SCR = status run

You will also have to bus to the AA Eagle terminal from T4 LAX so don't leave it too close to boarding time to leave the lounge etc.
