Re: Optus unlimited data roaming packs -- bargain price!

I arranged a 5 day pass for Singapore a fortnight ago. Made absolutely sure that I switched to manual network selection, and chose Singtel.

Since I've got back, I've logged into my account, and there is an unbilled amount for over $1,500 listed as international data. Hopefully it will be adjusted (removed) when the bill is generated, otherwise it will be yet another complaint to the TIO.

Re: Optus unlimited data roaming packs -- bargain price!

Hi there,
I thought I would like to add to this conversation with my experience and current experience with Optus and the Unlimited Data Travel Pass.
I have used this Unlimited Data Travel Pass in November 2012 and everything was smooth with correct billing at the end of my billing cycle for that month.
But this time in July/2013 things are different with a $500 extra from International Roaming while I was in South Korea.
Details are as follows:

I was in South Korea from the 15th (Saturday) of June until the 1st (Monday) of July.
When I first called (which I was physically in Korea) on the 15th I had asked the operator I wanted 3x 5 Day data packs starting on the 17th (so that the last day would be on the 01/07 when I left to go to Japan at 12 noon). The operator accidentally ordered the first pack to start immediately (15th). But then after about a 45 minute call he had then told me that everything was how I wanted it and that the packs would be activated on the 17th, 22nd and 27th of June ... with the last day being the 01/07.

Admittedly, I did use a lot of it with the total cost being around AU$270,000 worth of international roaming (as per the automatic SMS-ing system).
The only problem was that my billing period changes on the 25th or 26th of every month.

My first bill from Optus was correct (ending on the 25/06) but this current one ending on the 25/07 (International roaming charge was about $160,000 according to the Optus Billing Sheet) has been charged and extra $500 exactly.

I have read through the Accpetable Use Policy Appy.doc and it does not state any maximum size allowed (pg. 222 - 224).

Optus has been a great service to me and I hope that one day they do include Japan because I travel there often!
I am not here to flag on or say the service is not good, because to me they have been great!

I will add here what happens on Monday (29/07) when I call Optus accounts and write the outcome.

Stay Tuned!!!

(PS: I have added this to another thread but just want other to know about it as it will be helpful I believe).
