Original Route Credit on VA & Partners?

What happens when my VA flight is cancelled same day and I am rebooked on Jetstar? Am I still supposed to receive the sc and points? I sent an email to Velocity but yet to get a reply.


Interesting that you were rebooked on JQ & not another VA flight. Where were you going?

I got a call on the way to the airport about 75 minutes before the flight. Sent an email to [email protected] and got a reply that someone from guest relations would contact me. Haven't heard anything yet.

No wonder they just couldn't put you on another VA flight in that case.


Sometimes email responses are a bit slow. Might be worth giving the WP number a call. I presume you have copies of the original itinerary & the JQ BP. I put a retro claim in & called the SG line & had to send another email.

Bumping an old thread - having the same problem with ORC for an Air NZ flight HNL-AKL-SYD which got rebooked to QF4 direct due to NZ delays.

As expected the continued cut and paste responses about "if eligible" and "adding frequent flyer number to the booking" show that no-one can interpret this type of request despite attached original e-ticket, boarding passes, advice from NZ etc. I have just sent the whole thing off again to the Platinum team to see if they can actually read outside the script. This email was pretty strongly worded.

My outbound SYD-HNL was on JQ and I took advantage of upgrading from a Starter with Plus bundle to Business class ($280 for 9+ hours in the air was a bargain and the JQ business service was pretty good actually). The flight posted as zero points and SC. Email to Qantas FF Service Centre and points posted within 48 hours. That's the customer service and back office processes that QF largely have sorted and VA are still making up as they go along.

I had a booking for OOL-SYD-MEL back in April and flights were cancelled and the next day I was on the direct OOL-MEL flight. I received the double SCs for that flight.

I now want to claim Original routing credit. Is it as simple as sending an email to Velocity explaining what happened? I am not in the mood to call and waste time trying to get it sorted.

It can be done....but a fair bit of time will be spent on hold......I do enjoy their music selection although I did discover I needed better phone speakers....make sure you have a print out of original booking with original flight numbers as they wont have that on their system.
