Overnight stopover in SIN

It's a nice hotel for a HIX. Modern, comfortable. Good bed and shower. Breakfast was fine by HIX standards.

Transport for me was:

1. Train to Tanah Merah then exit B.

2. Bus 14 or 14A direction CLEMENTI INT from stop 85091

3. Get off at stop ROXY SQ (7.7 km, 22 stops, 33 minutes) stop 92119

4. Walk back a few m to see the HIX entrance signs.

But the bus is not all that easy to negotiate and is far from glamourous!

Thanks for coming back with this information - just what I needed. The hotel sounds fine for our stopover.

Also, thanks for the detailed transport route - but confirms in my mind that we will use a taxi rather than our EZ-Link cards for the trip to and from the airport.
(We have used the Tanah Merah stop more than a few times to catch the No.2 bus to Changi Village.)

Don't forget that it is a HIX. So fine for 1 but a bit of a squeeze for 2.

There's dozens of restaurants, some shopping centres and even a big cinema complex virtually at the hotel door.

Thanks for the warning - but for only one night it should be fine. It can't be much smaller than the B&B Hotel Chain we occasionally used in France for single nights at Verdun and Rheims.

Yes Katong is great for food which is part of the reason we would stop there.

Going to have an 8 hour stopover in Singapore arriving at 12:05am via SQ208 and leaving at 8:05am via SQ600, any good place to rest in the Airport beside the transit hotels? Looking to save the $100 if possible....

I will be travelling with my gf and she can't enter Singapore without a visa, so getting out of the Airport won't be an option unless we got lucky and they waive us through immigration.

Another thing to consider is a use of Ambassador Lounge (T1, T2 or T3).
You can book it for 3h @GBP22 pp (https://www.loungepass.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=information.tandc&c=2)
or directly for 5h @SGD59 (http://www.changiairport.com/en/airport-experience/attractions-and-services/pay-per-use-lounges.html)

Here is a little saving on lounge use, which might be possible.

Changi Airport has Transit Programme. A little complicated, as you must travel in and out on Singapore Airlines or Silk Air (NZ Airline on some flights) IN BOTH DIRECTIONS i.e. 4 legs of the journey.
Check exact details at
http://www.changiairport.com/en/passenger-guide/transit/changi-transit-programme.html

If you qualify for the program, you will receive Changi Airport vouchers SGD20-40 which can also be used at Ambassador lounge.

Good luck!

Just a minor qualification in that Changi $ vouchers are indeed $20 only - the $40 days are well gone.

That's possible, though Changi web page still states:

"For passengers eligible for S$40 CDV, you would receive two S$20 CDVs where one of which will be valid for one-time use to redeem Liquor, Perfumes or Cosmetics purchases only. This CDV can also be used at the services / spa area of the Shilla duplex store in the transit area of Terminal 3 and featured brands include Dior, SKII, Chanel and La Prairie. Here are some recommended ways to spend the CDV, with no minimum spend at all!"

Looking here, for tickets booked from October 1st 2016 onward, only tickets with itineraries originating in Mainland China were eligible for $40 of vouchers.

[h=3]The voucher redemption value differs based on your point of origin.[/h]
For passengers with tickets issued between 1 October 2016 and 31 March 2017 and departing from your point of origin from between 1 October 2016 and 31 March 2017.

You will receive a CDV worth S$20 if your point of origin is:
Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Europe including Russia and Turkey, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America or Vietnam

You will receive two CDVs worth S$20 each if your point of origin is:
China (Mainland)
