OWE booking basic economy

As per my post, ba.com had the AA PNR for my reward booking - which is a nice hack!
In my experience Check My Trip should be able to take the QF PNR and spit out an AA PNR, which is what I've done in the past. Unsure why it couldn't recognise your QF PNR.

Yep. That’s been my experience in the past but it wasn’t playing the game the other day but seems to be working now. Maybe there was as short delay confirming everything on the AA end.

With QFF redemptions on AA still broken, we almost booked a AA “Basic Economy“ fare yesterday from ORD to BOS. At US$79 it seemed pretty good value based on the discussion earlier. Just as we went to progress to booking I asked SYD+1 what fare bucket was it showing? Turns out it was “B” which doesn’t earn QF points nor SCs.

I thought there must have been a catch somewhere. Anyway, went with the slight more expensive Main Cabin fare. Seat selection included all the preferred seats (but not MCE).

Quite strange given the QF/AA partnership but QF PAX are not listed on the airlines given access to MCE (as mentioned earlier, limited to OWE from AA, AS, AY, BA, IB, JL and QR).
