Not from what I have seen. Defeats the purpose of flying when you can't accumulate status. If anything like Virgin we may see one in 5+ years time.oz_mark said:So do they have a frequent flyer scheme?
Passengers in the first three months of our operation will have the chance to win the Minardi Formula One 2-Seater Experience – rides in the world’s most advanced type of racing car specially adapted to take a passenger.
One passenger a day will win the Minardi Formula One 2-Seater Experience and there will be one winner a week in OzJet’s second and third months of operation.

You are right the most popular purpose of flying is to get from A to B.Dave Noble said:Actually, I always found that the purpose if flying was to get from A to B. FF programmes are just a nicety. Anyway, if their product does favourably compare with QFs J domestic, then I would think of it as jam today rather than jam tomorrow
JohnK said:But when travelling for business I would rather, especially short flights like SYD-MEL, SYD-BNE, BNE-MEL, accumulate status and ff points in some ff scheme even travelling on red e-deals.
Also there are the status runs or mileage runs. I want to go from A to B via C,D,E,F. If you fly with an airline with no ff programme then status runs or mileage runs really do not exist.

EK has a Frequent Flyer scheme and does reward it most frequent flyers. My brother works with the UN in Africa/Middle East and regularly flies ex SYD. He tells me he gets Op-Upped 9 times out of 10 from there.Dave Noble said:oz_mark said:Ability to accrue Frequent Flyer points or equivalent is one of the factors that goes into deciding who to fly.
It is a factor but not necessarily a major factor. I have , for example, flown EK 1st a number of times since they have had v good fares. I was more interested in the excellent service and the v good fares that were being offered. Much more important than some numbers in a FF account.
I suggest that for many ( most? ) people , that an FF scheme is not the main issue for people.

That's why they are very popular out of Sydney (or most places Ex Oz for that matter). Unless one is tied to QF either by the "need" for Status Credits or Travel policies of one's employer they appear a very good option.Dave Noble said:... They had a good service and a v good value fare.. better to me than FF points

Try this link for flight schedules. There is flight at 6:20am.Yada Yada said:I've just had a look at their flight schedule for SYD-MEL. One flight earlier than 8:30am would be a nice addition.
