Paid upgrade Qatar Promo fares

Qatar newbie, would appreciate the insight.

After booking a Y promo fare with Qatar, do you still get a Pay to Upgrade offer (if available) like others do a week before the flight?

We are on a T class economy ticket which I believe is a promo fare and have received a pay to upgrade offer to business for our MEL-FRA flights on 30 Dec.

Yes please I am very interested in the costings, planning to fly to the UK around May with my 6'4" brother who has a crook back. I was looking at business but if I could save some money that'd be great

They offered the legs separately for the 2 on the booking. It was $3832 and $2106.

I think they meant for the two legs outbound...for both of them.

Is the companion sale a definite return fare, can it be one way?

I have looked at one way fares for two to Frankfurt ex Perth and they are still about 50% dearer than being part of a return fare. Since the loss of our booked flights due to the CX cancellations I have been closely watching QR's fares. From my point of view the 'Companion sale" has been a non- event. In fact the prices for two people to Frankfurt have been increased since this 'sale' started. This seems to be the general view by posters on other forums. Of course there are occasional bright spots for a few ports, but not many.

One of the posters in the Qatar Flyer Forum pointed out that it was not a lie about these being "offers like never before" as he couldn't remember a previous sale campaign where prices were actually increased

I fly Qatar (Economeh) a few times a year long haul. Usually get an upgrade offer, no matter the booking fare class. The prices though are a joke, so always a hard no from me.
