Paris Lunch Sat 6 April 2024

I have booked flights. Mrs L and I are arriving in BLQ on 25/3 and spending a few days in FLR before heading to Paris (via Champagne :)).
I better get moving...have only made one booking so far:

Arriving in LHR on 30/3

The rest need to be filed in and booked. But possibly a drive up to EDI via the most poisonous garden stop off before making my way to Paris's the rough plan.

Update : All major flight legs from MEL via Sin to LHR is now confirmed. So will be somewhere in Europe between 30/3 to 16/4. Now to seriously decide what to do before and after brunch in Paris on 6/4 🥂🍾

@JessicaTam care to share your plans for champagne area? Might meet you there? otherwise see you in Paris.

Took advantage of the sale fares of my other loyalty program that has better redemption availability ☺️. Time to give it more love since WP renewal trips is sorted for 2025 for now.

@LinaLee and I have decided that lunch in Paris in the spring is just the thing.

It is more than a year away, so there should be the odd sale or award fare available.

The most likely place for lunch is Les Deux Magots (Les Deux Magots - 6 Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés)

Your birthday lunch caught my attention. We were in Paris pre covid for my birthday and had dinner at the Eiffel Tower on a balmy spring night.
Superb night reasonably priced and brilliant service. Nothing catches the attention of friends than......."birthday at the Eifel Tower". Reservations are needed months in advance. We were on a 53 day half world trip on Qantas points. Leg to Paris we went Qantas Hong Kong daylight flight then Hong Kong to Paris overnight arrived around 7.30 am "All business class. Really relaxing flight times. Outline if anyone is interested in full detail.
Bris to Paris via Hong Kong, Nice to Heathrow, 7 days Cotswolds, cruise South Hampton to Baltics return, no business class points flights available on Kangaroo route so went Heathrow to Beijng over night. Spent 4 days touring The Forbidden City, walked The Wall, 2 duck restuarants, markets etc. Flight home Beijing via Hong Kong to Brisbane all day light. Big bang for your points and good flight times.

And it is reasonably priced compared to my usual haunts, such as L'Ambroisie which accepts payment in kidneys... and probably serves up kidney tartare... who knows with the French
What I miss about France (lived there for 8 years) is the fact that they DO serve the likes of kidneys and rabbit and brains! Try finding those in Brisbane? Lucky if you can get a piece of liver that hasn't been designed to sole one's shoes with.
They are civilised - and oh yes, they know how to cook!

Great area - lots to explore in surrounding towns too. Think of things like parmasen cheese, parma ham (Parma), balsamic vinegar (Modena), etc.

How about your movements after? We're back in the general area from the 9th. CFW is available from what I understand.

A couple of nights in BLQ then heading to FLR for a week. Up to Reims (via the CCR!) before the weekend in CDG.

Go to one of the acetaia just outside Moderna. Plus the this is worth a visit if you are near Parma Home
