Question for those who might know how this plays out.

When you reach 2400SC, you can grant someone “Partner Gold” for the remainder of the current membership year + 12 months.

If you then go on to 3600 you can then grant Platinum. Does this need to be the same person you granted Gold to earlier, or can it be someone else?

Anyone know how this scenario works?

They do not need to be the same person, in fact that would be a waste of gifting of Gold. Until recently P1 gift of Platinum was only to spouse/partner but this has now been relaxed.

Ok got it. So if the plat is gifted to a new person, what happens to the person who was previously gifted gold?

Do they keep it?

Also is there an age restriction of the gifted plat? Was thinking of assigning to my 11 year old daughter.

Yes, the person gifted Gold retains it, the P1 Platinum offer is a separate offer/reward...so you get to make 2 people happy. I'm not aware of an age restriction for gifting of status, but I don't think they are allowed into lounges without an adult due to alcohol licensing laws...but happy to be corrected.

Yes there isn’t an age limit however minors are not technically allowed unaccompanied entry due to the availability alcohol. Friend of mine had her 17yo son with WP refused unaccompanied entry to the F lounge in London.

They are totally seperate. once the Gold or Plat is given they remain for as long as they should at the time of gifting (ie till the end of the gifters membership anniversary year).

I have done this.

Also since the most recent change to the P1 Platinum Gift benefit (what used to be called Partner Platinum) I think the monikier of Partner Gold/Plat is a bit misleading as thse days either can be used to grant status to any other QFF account - there's no longer a restriction as there once was.
