Partner Gold rules changes kicked in :(

In terms of pushing the matter, I was thinking of ACCC (or whoever it should be) for misleading conduct. Sure it would achieve nothing, but if a higher up person had to justify the situation to the ACCC it might focus their attention. Screen shots would also allow me to make a claim, rather than feedback that I'm not happy. If that claim is rejected again I can take that further with government authorities, ACCC or whoever.

Ive seen it mentioned on this forum that any such action would more than likely result in the loss of your FF account, which itself should be illegal! QF have you over a barrel which ever way you turn!

I don't really want to go into great detail while on iPhone. So please forgive the briefness of the following, and where I cut corners.

My thought would be to raise a complaint with QF and make a clear claim. When they reject that and I'm still unhappy the next step is to escalate to an outside party, I'm assuming the ACCC but maybe state consumer protection agency, to resolve the complaint. I would say canceling the account in that situation would be illegal.

However, QF could argue that it brings QFF into disrepute, no doubt a breech of the T&C.

Anyway, not going to happen.

Just to pick the scab on this open festering wound - today my points/SC posted for my most recent flights taking me to 2100 SCs :(

There is an outside chance that I might hit PG with the new domestic fare structure though... Also to add more salt to festering scaberous sore - mrssimongr's PG card and luggage tags arrived yesterday...

So did they comp you the PG? It would certainly be the decent thing to do.

As a footnote my account does not show how many SC's I need to get to the new PG level. (I can work it out, but it suggests to me the systems have not been updated.)

Strange. My summary has the following information:
SC earned since October: 1200
Additional SC required by September to receive additional platinum privileges: 1200

PG is one of the additional platinum privileges.

No - this was the pack for her being gold this year until Sep 2011 (I qualified for PG in the year to 30 Sep 2010).

I might send an email off to QFF any for a punt expressing my disappointment. However I just quickly checked and on booked travel I have 280 SCs locked in before 30 Sep and that is without the expected 4 flights to MEL (from SYD) in Sep... So it might be a moot point...

For me it is:

I suspect it is a glitch in the system. In both simongr and my cases we have met the old 2100 criterion.

I will hit PG in my year. (On Friday 1st July to be precise) QF has followed their rules so I can hardly complain, it just seems odd that they didn't take the opportunity, at virtually no cost, of making some pretty heavy FF's feel warm and fuzzy. :-| Instead they sent my 2012 WP card out a couple of months early as a means of "thanks". Made me feel "really" good, I already had 2170 SC's!!

simongr, if you do send an email I wish you good luck, they didn't even bother to respond when I used the form on the QF website.

I remember the thanks you got and I have been waiting for my new card and for the date to be extended to next year. Anyway, I think you should feel privileged as you got a thank you, unlike simongr and me. :p

LOL I forgot to add that into my "Why I fly QF" post! :)

Sorry for the double post peeps.

Just a quick update, not sure if it has been covered elsewhere.

My SC's from SIN-MEL posted yesterday and took me past the 2400 mark.

When I logged in to the QFF site there was a message advising that I had reached a new reward level.

The link took me to my profile page where I go the option to select the reward of my choice. I selected PG and the recipient, by last name and FF number, and updated my profile. Once done a message advised that the recipient would receive their card within 21 days.

I thought the process via the website was quite good, significantly better than the handling of the change in SC's required.
