Partner wants to get to MEL 4 hours early for a J flight to Bangkok (TG466). Overkill?

Would be interesting to hear about the Thai flight! We had a relatively good one a month ago on the 466. The only downside was some of the food - parts were good, some not so.

I'm the person that aims to be at the airport 90 minutes before a flight and gets there with a few minutes to spare.

Very stressful. Best to get there early and avoid last minute issues such as nearing SYD international and realising passport is still at home so get taxi to turn around. Lucky don't live far from airport. Made that flight by a whisker.

Sunday morning is meant to be for relaxing. Please stop triggering my airport stress with posts like this.!

Sorry mate. That's one of the tame ones.

One rule I have learned is avoid early morning flights. Have a 9:50am flight out of SYD in 2 weeks. That should be fun.

Have flown out of MEL Int twice this year...at Easter (JQ) and in early July (SQ).

In both cases there were short waits at check in and zero delays at security & passport control.

Seems to me all the drama, if it happens, is happening in domestic terminals.

Same here. On one of our flights there were no passengers in front of us at hand luggage screen
