Mrs Ikara and her friend are travelling to Europe later this year for a river cruise. They are flying Premium Economy Cathay Pacific ADL - HKG - AMS. They have a 10 hour layover in Hong Kong. They don't want to leave the airport so I'm looking for a lounge that they can visit while they are there. They don't have any Qantas Club status and I think I'm right in saying that CX PE gives them NO lounge access?

For the regular travellers through Hong Kong can you please point me in the direction of any "pay for access" lounges that they could use?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure she can't use any of her QF FF points to upgrade on CX metal with a CX booking?

Thanks in advance.

Your assumptions are correct on all fronts.
Best bet is to access the Plaza Premium lounges which charge approx $50 USD/head for 3 hours access. these can be bundled with showers, massages etc at a higher rate.
Personally, i'd save the cash, enter hong kong and have a buffet lunch at the regal airport hotel (100m walk from arrivals), or pickup a few bottles of something to enjoy in the airport.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have done the Plaza and had no problems having a shower and private room to have a sleep

Very wise advice.

if it at all possible, you should look to say leave Australia via SYD (say the 3:50pm CX100 flight) which will get you into HKG at a reasonable time ~10pm to connect to the AMS flight (departing ~midnight).

Why waste 10 hours sitting around HKG airport?

Flying ex Adelaide as we live in Adelaide.

And just between you and me, I'd (she'd) rather spend 10 hours in HKG airport than have to fly to Sydney and fly out of Sydney International! Adelaide is much better as an international portal than Sydney. Just my humble opinion though!

Gee I love HKG airport and its lounges lost count of how many times Mrs Lime & self got.. sorry been in them, but to waste 10 hours is a shame, jump on the fast train to the city, look, shop, enjoy eat then few hours in lounge, I mean really...

The use of the Plaza Premium lounge is around
$100 usd for 10 hrs 1 pax, while to get from the Airport to Hong Kong is a 20 min train ride. If you don't have anything valuable in your carry-on, sleeping on the day beds in the Relaxation Zone for an hour or two (free but public) before heading into Hong Kong for a few hours, then using Plaza Premium lounge for the last 3-4 hours.

If kids are involved & don't want to leave the airport, an airport hotel might be a more viable alternative.
