Hi everyone,

Got a quick question, im thinking about booking a Return flight Syd to LAX return in first for early next year. If usiing the paylater option what is the latest they allow you to pay for the full fair.

Just did a 'dummy' booking for First class return MEL-LAX departing at 10:25am on 16April09.

Clicking the "pay-later' option gave until Midnight 15April09.

Just note that after paying the $25 deposit, that the inclusive fare was still > $19000 remaining to be paid

I recently booked a 2 person AONE4 fare using Qantas Pay Later - booked mid April for first flight departing June 8th. The latest date I could pay for that fare was May 28th - but I ended up paying on May 8th to beat the increased fuel charges that were introduced on the 9th.

On the other hand, a domestic J CBR-BNE-CBR flight I had booked on 26 July had a Pay Later date of 25 July, so perhaps the rules are different for the *ONE* fares compared to Qantas-only fares.

As an aside (and similar to what serfty mentioned), my June trip is actually a business trip to SFO for 7 days, but I extended the trip for 3 extra days and instead of $19K for a SYD-LAX-SYD F fare I paid about $16K for the AONE4 fare, spent an extra $1000 on accommodation and gave myself a few days break in the UK and some bonus SCs to boot.

If you're wanting a SYD-LAX flight on QF in first, you'd be much better off booking it through an agent who can access QF Corporate rates as it'll be bucket loads cheaper than booking with QF direct.

Problem is, not many retail agents can access them and if they can't, they usually wont sell it to you at that rate, but its worth checking out.
