Sorry for the late entry, we’ve been really busy.

After Granada we left for Barcelona.
This consisted of a train from Granada to Madrid and then Madrid to Barcelona.
The night that we arrived there was a celebration for Sant Joan.
It was so scary I almost quacked myself. There was a huge fire in the middle of the street and people were letting off fireworks everywhere. It was really, really noisy. Quack!

The apartment we were staying at was outside the Sagrada Familia.

It is a huge church designed by Gaudi and still being built. It is said to be completed in 2025 and is funded by its entry fees and private donations. It was epic. Quack!

We also went and saw some art museums and the world’s longest bench.
It was 650m long at Park Güell. I was going to sit down but I was scared that I would get sat on.

From Spain we’re going to France via train. Hopefully it won’t be too boring.
Quackidy Quack!

My adventure of Paris in summary... Quack

On our first day in Paris we went to see Notre Dame...
It was alright... didn't see the hunch back of Notre Dame though.
I was so disappointed. Quack!

We also went to the Pompidou Centre, which was a lot better than the MACBA in Barcelona.

We then went to the Louvre and I got a picture with Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

The Louvre was packed with tourists. LIKE ME! Quack!
I even had to go through an x-ray machine!
(I've been in before but this time I was nervous... The Louvre has so many security guards with big guns. Quack!)

Off to Chesterfield (England) tomorrow to visit Sam and Sze Sze's relatives.

Quackidy Quack.

Hi Penny

I'd love to know about your train trip was it boring. Which way did you go? Was it a full day?

I did Barcelona to Nice in 2007. In was a bit of a night mare, with train changes in Montpeiller and Avignon. At Montpeiller the information said the train was only about 4 carriages long, when it was a full length train. That meant that there were about 20 people trying to get in every door of the train. So there I was, last one to board, with family on board, and 3 suitcases to get up the steps into the door and myself, with the guard whistling at me because the train was already about 15 minutes late.

When we got to Avignon, we had to get to the TGV station. Except no one bothered to tell us, luckily we checked the boards. That was a bit of a mad rush, using the free* bus.

A long winded explanation of our nightmare day. I was just wondering how the trip was for you.

* as in not free for non-french speakers with a TGV reservation and eurail pass, which apparently don't count as train tickets.

What an original idea Sam

Don't flatter yourself that I copied you. My mum and I took a gnome to Europe and posted to a website about him in 2007 ;)

*Himself. Thanks mhen. And no, we were just "walked off our feet" every night.

Sorry but it is my opinion that Penny is passing herself off as something she is not.

From Paris we then went to Chesterfield. Quack!
Sam, Linda, Sze Sze and I stayed at a hotel in Chesterfield.
We met up with her relatives too.
They have a cute rabbit called Jack. Quack!

samh004-albums-penny-s-european-adventure-picture1937-rabbit.jpg

During our stay in Chesterfield we also attended Sze Sze’s Grandfather’s memorial. It was so very quackingly interesting.
I have a feeling that I knew as many people as she did. None. Quack! I also got a shhh-neaky picture with politician, Arthur Scargill.

samh004-albums-penny-s-european-adventure-picture1938-scargill.jpg

Jonathan, Rachel, Sam, Sze Sze and I went to Curbar Edge.
It was the first time Sze Sze and I had gone.
It was so windy. I nearly quacked myself. I thought I was going to blow away! It was really fun climbing the rocks…

samh004-albums-penny-s-european-adventure-picture1939-climbing.jpg

Even though I got pinned under a mini boulder. Quackidy!

samh004-albums-penny-s-european-adventure-picture1940-pinned.jpg

That night we had dinner at their house and played Extreme UNO. I didn’t play... but I shh-ecretly looked at everyone else’s cards for Sze Sze. She won two or three games as well! QOL

After our brief stay in Chesterfield, Sam, Sze Sze and I left for Barrow-in-Furness by train…

Our first night in Barrow-in-Furness consisted meeting up with Krog, Sheryl and Jodie at an Italian restaurant called Teatro. It was alright… Service was quackingly slow.

We spent one whole day in Barrow till it was our time to go back to Chesterfield by train. Sam, Sze Sze and I spent a couple of days in Chesterfield before leaving for London. I can’t really remember what we did over those couple of days before London except that I saw a life-changing quote in Sheffield, a city near Chesterfield. Sze Sze even agreed.

And now… the exciting conclusion!!

Sam, Sze Sze and I left for Australia today…
It is going to be the longest trip back to Australia ever…

samh004-albums-penny-s-european-adventure-picture2021-penny-reads-about-penguins-qf.jpg

We flew from London to Singapore which took about 13 hours.
After a long flight to Singapore we had about 3 hrs to kill, where I snacked…
From Singapore we then had a 9 hour flight to Melbourne.
It was kind of boring but Sze Sze and I watched a load of movies and documentaries. Quack!

Sam, Sze Sze and I went and looked in the Duty Free shop in Melbourne.
I went and bought some alcohol with Sze Sze. It was our first time to buy alcohol in the airport and they didn’t even ask for our I.D’s… We’re so shh-neaky…
We then went to the domestic terminal for our flight to Brisbane. I think Sze Sze had a shower and had vegemite on toast. I tried some and liked it (but it doesn’t beat fish). It was nice and salty.

After arriving in Brisbane, our trip wasn’t over… Quackidy QUACK!

We had to take a train to from Brisbane to Nerang station which took about 1 and a half hours. It was pretty good though. Sze Sze and I just enjoyed the blue sky and the fluffy clouds.
We then took a taxi and finally arrived home.
All in all I think it was a quackingly good trip and I experienced a lot of new things. That is all. Quack.
