Flying out later today, will let you know if they have gone "a day early".

in the ad the first mentioned "benefit" is gourmet pizza

The ad in this morning's 'West' is certainly going to confuse, as it said 'now open'. Looks like someone in advertising jumped the gun .

coughtail hour from 4-5pm is a bit annoying - the last Sydney flight leaves at 16h20ish at the latest due to curfew. 1 hour earlier in summer.

I am flying out of Perth on Friday, I look forward to seeing the new lounge.
No invitation for the opening, probably because I am the type of guy that would have a High-Vis Tuxedo made for the occasion

If they want respect they need to consider others around them.

I shouldn't have to listen to their rude, loud conversations. I come into the lounge to relax to get away from the terminal. May as well stay out in the terminal if they are going to behave that way inside.

And yes I know most FIFO workers do not behave this way but I can almost guarantee if I see a group of FIFO workers in the lounge they will be extremely loud and rude.

I suppose you realize that you are a FIFO by definition...

Damn, 3.5 years as a PER based WP ended in June. Now I barely see the inside of an aircraft let alone a lounge. Poor timing is poor!!!
