Im happy to spend the $$$ to stay clarkes quay - swiss or novotel, after all, there wouldn't be much time to enjoy the Excelsior would there... between PUMP and other "venues" which are guaranteed to keep you up till the wee hours!
EVAN - what do you suggest?

Swiss is fine but not 5* like they claim !, very similar to Novotel.
Also if you don't mind 10 minutes stroll down the same side of the river at Robertson Quay there is the Gallery hotel which may be cheap. (Not as nice as the other 2 or should i say just more basic but has free internet and can be a lot cheaper at times)

Or if you can get cheap nights like on a weekend i would otherwise stay at the Interconti (All rooms are king rooms as far as i know, so no twin beds if thats your need)
