Yes, my query is which Online Travel agent. I have been playing around with a few br agents but cant replicate those prices

You can do 100% dumps on some QF routes using a different BR OTA, pricing the itinerary as an open jaw - then doing the same for the return or by adding a throwaway flight. I was able to ticket LAX for $947 during peak and ~$900 to LHR - much cheaper on QF sale fares.

But isn't the point of booking through BR that you don't pay YQ? What am I missing here in that dumping would help with a BR OTA?

Yes I did notice... quoting those destinations from BR has no YQ, but the basefare even in same fare bucket has a diff price... eg:

No. I've only looked at dummy bookings.

I've found some decent BR fares to LHR. Is it possible to add sectors in the middle somewhere on Expedia? Final destination is AMS and the additional flights are cheap enough but I'd rather have single ticket protection

Yes you are right. Qantas has added the published $340 YQ into their base fares ex BR so technically there is no YQ.

danblar must have found a trick involving a BR OTA which either removes this $340 from the ex BR base fare or which uses the ex AU base fare and not adding the YQ.

Looks like it will be a MEL-SIN trip instead!

The previous sale was replaced by a new $550 AUD return PER - SIN sale which is on until 12 Nov. The screenshot below from the Qantas website shows the travel dates. Doesn't look like there are any of the cheapies on ex br for the dates you mentioned hummel, or most of the weekends for the next few months but still some midweek availablity. Seems to be plenty of availability into next year though.
