Perth Airport - Rail Link

By the way there is research that there is not a complete correlation between reduction in class size and improved educational outcomes.
I really have to wonder as to the logic behind this statement, there is rarely a COMPLETE correlation between anything but that does not mean there is NO correlation. E.g. there is no COMPLETE correlation between speeding or drink driving and road accidents either but have not in recent times heard anyone mount a serious intellectual argument we should changes those laws!

I hear Perth is a ghost town these days so traffic will be greatly reduced. I also expect all your 457's have all shot through.

Next boom.......10 years?
Yet it's being compared to the traditional left leaning ghost state that is Tasmania.

I can assure you Gina has a pile of 457s still employed.

10 years? Probably closer to 3. Most of the talk is the big guys stopped in order to reset the market and kill a few smaller miners. Not nice but boom or bust is so ingrained in the mining culture that people seem to accept it.

Weed out the small miners, buy them out and away we go again, saying that there is not a lot of exploration work being done which is a concern.

Curious where the rock lickers have gone

Roads everyone needs and uses. They can even carry buses for those inclined. enough has been spent on the roads to Perth airport as it stands. Rail is a folly. It makes no money in Sydney and Melbourne won't even touch an airport line.

Perth is in recession and dives in!! Delusional. Next they will be complaining the tax burden is too high.

Following this logic why would I want my tax to pay for a road I will not drive on. Lets make all roads user pays.

I love it when people use public transport, makes my drive much easier, just with petrol was $5 per litre to make my trip ever faster.

I think reports of "traffic greatly reduced" have been greatly exaggerated.

Parking at the cheap spots in the CBD is much easier these days.

Given that the "tax" on CBD parking pays for the Central Area Transport (CAT) buses, you are better than I if you can find a cheap parking spot in the CBD during business hours... I know a few that work with 2 sector bus tickets, especially if you start at 0600...

Happy wandering

Smart Parker ($2/day) and return trip from East Perth station ($4.36) should do it...

That's equivalent to my South Perth - 2 sector transit ticket except I can find zero cost spots there. East Perth is not in the CBD, which would be roughly defined as the "free" CAT system. But even with that West Perth and the far side of Kings Park would be pushing the definition.

YMMV, especially while wandering

Cheaper was meant as a relative term. :) Think CPP vs Wilson.
