hi all, need some help trying to find 3 j redemption tickets from Perth to Paris for 2 weeks travel anytime this year...had no luck all the options are coming up waitlist? Any advice? Also I have not tried every week from now till December what's the most likely month to get seats? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Paris is very popular.

Try perhaps Rome or Amsterdam.....or Frankfurt etc.

Note too that you can book as two one-ways and thus use different airports.

Also with KF note that you can book a *A award on *A airlines such as Thai (which normally have better availability).

I book my flights to Europe when availability first opens and have always gained what I wanted, or close to it. However in recent years availaibity does seem to be dring up quicker.

However 3 J tickets on the one flight may also be a problem. You might need to book 2 on one day and 1 on the following day. SQ seems to vary on how many seats it will allow to be redeemed on the one flight.

If successful you can waitlist Pax 3 on the flights that Pax1/2 are one. If that clears ten just cancel the original booking.

Thank you lovetravellingoz some great tips, I agree 3 j on one flight is a tough ask
Do you think if booked 3 y and upgraded using miles I'll have more luck?

I believe that the J upgrades go into the same inventory as J savers do, so I don't think you'll have any luck doing it that way either. I'm not 100% sure on that, but I think that's how it works.

It costs a few more miles, but have you tried breaking up the searches to the separate legs i.e. PER-SIN and SIN-CDG?
I'm from Perth and there is often more availability when doing it that way, as there is different inventory when searching PER-CDG vs the separate segments.
I just did a dummy search and 3xJ savers PER-SIN were not too hard to find, but the SIN-CDG segments didn't have any luck (only searched a few random dates).

As mentioned above, finding 3 J awards on the same flight can prove difficult. We've managed 2x suites previously so 2x savers will also increase your chances if splitting the flights is an option (not always possible I know).

Alternatively, if you have the miles you could take one for the group and book a suites saver for yourself and 2x J savers for your traveling companions if you can find that on the same flight :)

Good luck!

Over the years I have found 4 in J to SIN and other Asian destinations (ie Vietnam and Thailand) quite easy to get. Once even 5, but I suspect that wasa glitch.

But SIN to Europe has often hada cap of 2. I have booked 3 sometimes, but in other years I have seen a hard cap of 2. With often 4 going tat meant booking 2 each in J on consecutive days.

Sorry I have no experience on this. I have always preferred the certainty of booking into J or F directly.

Yeah I wouldn't doubt that, I haven't seen more than 2 in J for long haul routes to US/Europe but like you say, have managed them with friends to Asian destinations. Have never seen more than 2F..hence why the wife and I are making the most of travel now whilst our little one doesn't take up a seat!

Thank you all..I'll try the 2 j and 1 f..
One last question does having gold or silver status make a difference on the redemption availability?

As far as I know it only helps with waitlist, and we are talking of KF Gold/Silver here and not in *A partners.

I find that LHR has the best availability as there are more daily flights. Catch a connector or train from there. I just did a dummy booking and found 3J available later this year. For other European destinations there is often more F than J available, from Perth you need to phone and book the F ticket.

Cheers mew just found 3 j in November to lhr all sorted, well take the Eurostar down to Paris

Yes the train is very convenient and cheap if booked in advance.

London is always good and the theatre shows much cheaper than in Oz. Buy discount tickets direct from the ticket box and not from "discount" booths that are not cheap at all as they just add commission onto the cheap seats at the back. Except for a new show I always got great seats at a very good price by buying on the day, or for next day.

I always say this, but try IST. Less frequent flights than other European destinations, but seems to be less popular. You may get lucky! Plus, it's less miles than the other European ports.

Only a 3h 45m connector flight to Paris – try TK for a decent intra-Europe J seat.

Good luck!
