I'm sure this is true for most flights but my BA flights from London to Kiev were on a single class plane with 3-3 configuration where they sold the first 4-5 rows as J class and kept the middle seat empty. But I can assure you there were no differences in the seats between J and Y.
Cheers, J
On the Kiev run, a normal mainline plane is used (A320)
The seats in the business section are convertible from business to economy so are the same physical seats
On the left side they squish it in slightly making the B seat v v thin and unusable with the A and C seat area wider than that in the economy section
on the DEF side, the seat block stretches out leaving 3 seats still but again wider than in economy. Unless the flight is v busy they try to keep the E seats empty unless someone explicitly chooses it
It doesn't look much different to economy but it is. if you look down the aisle of the plane you can see behind the curtain how there is a kink in the aisle where the seat positions change
The only planes that BA usse where there is no difference are the small regional jet like planes such as the AR1 used on the LCY-AMS run
Other than the seat width being wider due to the stretch/squish and the meal/drinks service , there is not a huge amount of difference between CE and ET on BA. If you can get a seat in economy in the convertible section, then will be almost as good
The pricing for CE is generally set accordingly. The D fare is lower than the full economy fare and the C business fare and the full economy fare are priced the same
