Hi Guys,

Finding it difficult to a) check availability and b) figure out how many points will be needed - for a Per - Kul Business class Malaysia airlines flight Sept 12 - 18th 2017.

I have plenty of amex points which I can transfer to either Asia Miles or Enrich program.

I've checked with asiamiles who say 80,000 points but the lady on the phone had trouble locating any business class award seats.

Hope someone can help!!

Have you tried using the British Airways website to check for award availability?

FWIW I think it will cost you less points if you redeem through Asia Miles.

Edit: since you provided dates I just went on and had a look. There are no MH business seats available on those dates on the PER-KUL route. MH used to be quite generous with award availability but I've noticed they're getting a lot stingier lately...

If you have Amex points I would look at transferring to KrisFlyer and taking SQ via Singapore.

Malaysia Airlines removed their award chart a fortnight ago. Redemption point costs now vary based on the cash ticket price (and possibly other factors). I don't know what cash value they assign to each point but I'd imagine it is pretty poor. I was looking at a similar situation earlier today (DRW-KUL, before they cancel it next month) and decided to take the safe option and book through Asia Miles.
