I love the direction velocity have been going with their emails lately. It appears they are trying to step things up, hopefully its shows through their service too and not just their email marketing..

Anyway I received an email today "Our guide to maintaining Platinum Status is here" with a link to a blog post with some standard stuff on how to maintain platinum. In the email however I found this nugget of information:

With further research it appears this is a new platinum only perk. I found it here on the platinum benefits section of the velocity website.

However it appears you can only fly ahead up to 2 hours via the contact centre.. I have a flight coming up on Friday I am going to give it ago. Currently booked at 9PM and want to fly around 12PM.

Has anyone tried phoning for a Fly Ahead in J early enough on the day that it was available, and wasn't "catering not assured"?
