Photo upload size change

Hi

Has there been a reduction in the file size of photos able to be uploaded? (Has been 5MB since the new forum software started, AFAICR.)

From a week or so back, I have been getting 'too large for the server to process' messages when uploading pics from my iPhone on-the-fly, which rarely caused a problem before. I assumed they were too large.

Tonight, have been trying to upload pics from the iPhone via my PC to a TR, and 5 images, 2.4MB - 3.6MB were rejected. Only one, 1.2 MB got uploaded.

I'm having problems too - but i don't believe it is related specifically to image file size.

Uploads commence at a good rate but then progress slows to a crawl and finally seeming to time out with a what would be erroneous message regarding the file being too big.

Maybe the new server has some type of DDoS protection which limits input data rates after certain volumes.

I did have this problem so I gave up on a few posts. The problem has since gone away except uploads seem slow, or slower than usual. I put this down to my location.

I also had this problem last Sunday- but also assumed it was just because I was on the edge of mobile reception, with 1 bar of 3G cutting in and out. Glad it’s fixed as I usually upload IPhone or iPad photos directly- having to resize would be enough to make it not worth the effort

The original problem has been rectified. What sort of issue more exactly are you having, and what's your speed situation like?

This time I had no problems but mine are downsized to ~ 105 KB

I am trying to upload a photo to "View from my office" (for the first time) but keep getting error that the file is too large - it's 1.9MB which is the smallest I can export from Photos App on MacBook - where can I find the parameters on what's allowed? thanks

There should be no issue with that image. Largest attachment size is 8192KB, which is much larger than your image. What is the file extension? Perhaps it is actually this that is causing the issue. If you continue to have difficulties, send me the image ([email protected]) and I shall see if I encounter similar issues from my end.
