Will always pick row 3 from now on.
Cheaper than J.
Right behind hard divider 737-800.
No one reclining into your zone.
Double windows.
Room for leg stretch up front.
Fold out table in arm rest tho.

If you're not in a hurry to disembark first, I'd also suggest you look at the exit rows ... all of the advantages of row 3 without the disadvantages of the armrest table or the mad scramble for overhead locker space -- and you're much more likely to have an empty seat next to you.

They always ask/tell us the spiel if we pick the exit row, have had that everytime I (used) to pick exit row.
Nah, row 3.
Maybe some prefer row 4, but some people think putting the seat back is their right!
So even if you are not eating, but doing something, the seat in front comes back, into your zone.
Plus, on the shorter sectors, in Y, they dont offer any munchies anymore, so no point putting out/pulling out the tray table.
Exit row, also no priority boarding, meaning you have to fight for the overhead bin.
Flew today, lots of people now do HLO, but with the hard sided case, with wheels.
Yes, they can be carried on board, but they take up more space.
EcoX, the lady asked, I showed her my BP, and was first on after the Js and the pax with kids.
Exit row, they make you wait, as "premium pax/dykwhi" get to board first.

Doesn't row 3 cost extra, unless you are a Platinum?

I thought this is Economy X, which comes with some other benefits too.

Agree 100%, and row 3 offers more leg stretch room than bulkhead row 1.

Agree it’s a good seat - but just a note, not all have a hard divider? One on weekend didn’t (layout with the new hard seats).

And wasn’t there a thread about how row 3 on some configs is different (can’t remember).

My next trip in 2 weeks when I booked Econ X row 3 was complimentary as a Gold but now I have dropped to Silver it is $55 if I wanted to book it now

Platinums get EconomyX for free; Golds (and lower) have to pay in theory.

Mind you, when I was a Gold I used to be in the practice of asking nicely if any exit row seats were still available when I dropped off my luggage or in the Lounge … I used to have about a 95% success rate of getting an exit row seat for free.
