All the busses start and end at Kawaguchiko station.We switched over to the Red Line bus which does a short run around the end of Lake Kawaguchiko passing many of the tourist spots so the most popular of the services.

I had a mate who sailed skiffs (eg 12 footer) and took some of us out on Botany Bay for a sail in a 16 footer one day. He stood most of the time, straddling the tiller at times with great balance. And while I used to stand in boats to fish 30 or 40 years ago, I am sure it would not go well now and I don't have pins in my joints etc.

I dont think I could stand in a small boat to fish.

The rain was getting more frequent so we now returned to the hotel. Fortunately as evening fell it stopped so we walked up the road and found a restaurant called Tetsuann so we decided to eat there. Yakiniku or Japanese BBQ. The menu-

Now if you read the first page you would know that mrsdrron ordered a grass of white wine whilst I had a draft beer.

We ordered pork, beef with garlic, shrimp plus onions and sweet potato.Forgot pics at the start so here it is near the end.

The shrimp were disappointing. We also had a tomato and onion salad which was nice as was the meat.

Saturday and the weather was worse.Our morning view.

But we went ahead with the Blue line sightseeing bus. But with the rain heavy at times and the driver trying to break speed records it was hard to sight see. The first part of the trip is just to get to the first lake and is through the mountains.

Then we got to Lake Shojiko.

At the far end of the lake there was a regatta.The 4's are being called up to the start.

The route goes to Lake Motosuko but with the weather this is all we saw of the lake.

They had excavated for a new section of road revealing the lava.

Yes the weather was miserable so we decided that there was no point in more sightseeing.So we left the bus at a shopping centre just a short distance from our hotel. Always interesting what you find in supermarkets. Aussie wine at $6.25 a bottle.
