After today's news the whole thing is even more of a joke...and Lesley Grant as head of Loyatly? That is really, really scary. She is a very much loathed woman from her days at Air NZ and then as head of cabin crew at QF. We can expect a program that already was difficult to become impossible.

Ahh yes. Lesley Grant. I remember a letter I had to her about a very very poor handling of a situation QF had many years ago and requested some form of compensation. Her response? "Sorry to hear of your problems. please fly with us again soon" (I paraphrase).

Bad news if she has indeed been escalated. Look forward to many many more 'enhancements'.

Thanks drewbles - does AA EXP do status match?

AA do challenges, but not to EXP. They will do it for Platinum. There is a fee ($200USD iirc) to do it. There is an EXP challenge off-the-records, but it's by invite (there was a special offer for the megado earlier in the year, but it was only open to people actually attending the megado).

Check out Challenge (AA) - FlyerGuide Wiki for more info. As a rule, it's 100k EQM's, 100 segments or 100k EQP's to get EXP. You then get 4 System Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as well as unlimited space-available domestic upgrades to First.

Keep in mind if you do get AA status, you will not be eligible for lounge access domestically unless you're on an international itinerary; even the EXP's have to buy Admirals Club access (of course most just buy QP as it gives unlimited premium drink chits).
