Hi there,

A couple of questions for the more knowledgable amongst us:

1. If I book a stay at, say, Intercontinental New York City, via the QANTAS Hotels booking site will I still receive Platinum Ambassador privileges at the hotel?, and
2. Am I able to get that booking to appear on my IHG profile at all?, and
3. Can I/will I earn both the QANTAS points and the IHG rewards points on the booking, or is it just one or the other?

many thanks.

Hi Kerrodt - I can't help you with the IC NYC, specifically, but for reference, I recently stayed at the IC London Westminster, booking via the Qantas hotels page for a bonus 10K QF points.

I put my IHG Rewards Club membership number and 'Platinum Ambassador' in the comments, and we were well looked after. Arrangements had already been made for our arrival, so the comments did get through.

The booking never appeared in my IHG account, but all benefits were honoured. Points were credited as a 'non-qualifying stay', and I received 1,000 IHG RC points, in addition to the QF points earned on the booking. Note that this was before the recent change to 10 IHG RC points per USD, so not sure how the same would be handled today.

Hope it helps in some way!

Cheers.
