Platinum Card, what will I get for $900

To clarify, these are the bonus offers that expire at the end of this month in line with the points changes... This is what sparked my speculation about whether Amex might revamp the offering...

The idea I was referring to was in the US and doesn't appear to be around anymore. That's why I've used the Velocity Shop and Earn store as a comparison.

It was a wide (I would classify Amex AU's current offering as limited) range of bonus points partners across many many spend categories and included brands that people would spend on regularly like GAP etc as compared to the poor range of hotels nobody stays at in Aus or unpopular (in the wider scheme of things) utility providers etc

Are relationship managers for Platinum cardholders being withdrawn?

I thought I never had one to begin with?

I ought to have explained in detail...some platinum cardholders, including this poster, have had RMs. when I called Amex to make a payment this week I was informed that RMs are to be appointed to manage Centurians only.

I still have one, despite her helping me to cancel my Plat Charge and swap my Plat Res to Plat Edge last week! That said, I was never really meant to have one in the first place, it was more of a favour due to an "introduction" by a kind AFFer - so perhaps that is why.

Notwithstanding the reduction in benefits discussed here and elsewhere for the charge card I was really pleased with the service I received over the weekend. At 9pm on Saturday night (with 2 kids asleep in the car) we were locked out of our house and our house insurer was frankly useless. A call to Amex and Ace insurance got a locksmith out and they covered the first half hour of labour, which was more than enough to get into the house. Not quite sure if it is enough to make me keep the card but certainly given me food for thought.
