Given Amex's acceptance rate (or lack thereof), it surprises me that one of the travel insurance requirements it that "all flights must be booked on your Amex", as opposed to my Visa Plat's requirement of "$300 of expenses before leaving Australia".

My average trip consists of a number of flights/airlines, and more often than not 1 carrier wont accept Amex.

I realise they're more lenient with the AMEX charge card, but the same should be offered to Amex Plat CC.

The 1.5 points are great, especially with 1.5x on SIA, but I'm getting tired of not being able to use my card for big expenses!
