Platinum Complimentary Upgrades - only Two?!

So I have never used this benefit before because I never saw any value in it. Today when I called up to enquire about using it on a trip to cairns I was told that I only have 2 remaining.

When I asked why I had 2 instead of 4 despite never using one I was told that when my platinum membership was extended by 8 months I was credited with 2 upgrades instead of 4.

I can't find anywhere on the velocity websites about benefits being prorated like this but I find it incredibly stingy. Has anyone else come across this?

Does your account say Extension Platinum and did you take the flights before 21st march to extend status.
I have read through all the terms and find my partner shows platinum did take the flights early in the year but has a feb review date and 8 month extension and don't see where she fits in.

No it just says platinum. The annoying part is that the first person I spoke to from velocity was quite dismissive of the whole thing. At one stage she said something to the effect that I was on an extension anyway like as if I should just be grateful for that.

I couldn't be bothered reminding her that I'm in Sydney and flying has been all but impossible these last 20 months. I just asked to speak to someone higher up the food chain
