Hi All,

Wondering if I'm going mad or VA have deleted personal details from my profile.!

After the official transfer to the new owners & and a new marketing campaign release, I would have thought VA would have been in contact with their most Loyal FF's about returning to the sky's...

I'm on my 4th year of platinum membership & I have had nothing in terms of a targeted offer, welcome back or even a email to say the BNE lounge is open again...! Lots of emails are sale fares and extra points..

I've been flying with QF since VA grounded there fleet and I'm quite enjoying the experience thanks to the QR status match..

Is the beginning of the end for loyalty at VA..?

The most important thing is to adjust your expectations - it’s not going to be the same experience as they have reduced/culled some of the benefits.

This is from today's (apparently) Platinum-only email from VA telling me, among other things you could characterise as mktng fluff, that my Plat status is secure thru to Mar 2022. Perhaps I missed that previously, maybe its new, but in anycase its welcome..

In anycase, imagine the chaos of new mgmt dealing with near-daily changes recently in State border openings and closings while trying to restart an airline AND worrying about the elite FF's feeling forgotten, many of whom have yet to jump on a plane.

So perhaps the critics on this thread shud go catch a flight, see how VA are doing and then have a rant. We will find out ourselves later this week HBA to SYD ,first flight since 18 March..

My husband was a Platinim with QF who transferred his loyalty completely when Alan Joyce grounded the fleet suddenly and left QF FQTV’s in the lurch! VA at the time, headed by the very elegant JB, picked up the bewildered and abandoned QF pax, and aggressively lured them over to the Purple&Red. My husband who spends most of the working week traversing between Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane and Melbourne was invited to join The Club which was absolutely brilliant with top notch customer service a welcome change from the QF surliness exhibited by a tired and disgruntled QF workforce. Thus began an 8 year honeymoon with the wonderful VA and their enthusiastic and energetic team doing everything possible to make the business travellers’ experience pleasantly seamless. I to am perplexed and disappointed at the complete and utter lack of communication from Paul Scurrah’s team ever since COVID grounded everyone. My husband (a lifetime Gold QF member -we have applied for a status match) now travels QF as his travel has resumed but sorely misses the wonderful VA team. Such a shame. His VA Club “by invitation only” will become a collectors piece.

I recieved this email today m confused that do I have to meet one condition or all???1607298622668.png

Glad to see someone has finally woken up in Bain/VA2 HQ....

Not sure it will do much though judging from the activity in the QF status match thread!

But for people that want no-frills between the major caps and don't need too much service frequency or connections, Bain/VA2 probably still is a viable alternative. That or REX.

What have the comms been like to the Club pax? Any indication on whether they're keeping the lounge or the Club program in any form?

Oh no, frequent flyers are upset. Try being a shareholder.

This is a fair point, and I realise you're probably referring to previous shareholders who received nothing out of the administration process.

But in general, happy customers = sales = happy shareholders. Losing sight of your best customers is unlikely to result in high shareholder returns.

I haven't received any comms from the Club for many months now although the dedicated phone and email channels are still running.

No sign of anything today so far, not even the offer sent out to WP's

SImilar to the offer I got this morning by email - except that I'm only Gold. For the last dot point, I get Complimentary Economy X seating.

My challenge, is being based in Canberra the normal flight routes I would use for day trips (as I pick the cheapest flights between Virgin and Qantas), are to Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. It will be interesting to see when I can book flights using Virgin for those runs, much less booking the one flight before 28 March. And of course, the Canberra Lounge is still under review.

I know there are up to 2 daily flights between BNE and CBR as I flew one of them down for the AFF gathering over the weekend...

I was looking at those, but I can't do the 'first flight out', 'last flight back' run. The Brisbane flight arrives in the morning, and then departs in the evening - which is the opposite of what I need (at least on their current schedules). I do mix and match airfares between Qantas and Virgin if need be.
