Platinum Lounge at KUL not so fabulous

Is there a MH lounge in the main terminal building?

I am flying J from HKG-KUL then with 60 mins stopover KUL-SIN.
Both flights are arriving/departing from Main terminal, hence not sure if 60 mins would be enough time to get the shuttle to the Satellite terminal to go for quick look in the lounge?

There is, its been a while since I've been in there, but from memory its not as good as the satellite Golden Lounge.

As you exit immigration/security and facing the rail, its to your left, up the escalators.

I don't really want to exit immi/security just for 20-30mins of lounge. so maybe might make a dash to Satellite terminal quickly take a peak in the lounge then back to main terminal again.

Sorry, you don't *need* to exit, but as a point of reference.

Your HKG flight will be more than likely arriving at the satellite and then the SIN flight often leaves the central terminal.

I am just guessing based on the MH website, it says arriving and departing from Terminal 'M'.
Is Terminal M the main terminal or satellite?

Main Terminal means not the budget terminal, it encompasses both the satellite and central areas, as per my post I would expect your HKG flight to arrive at the satellite, as thats where the A380 gates are. Generally its 737s that use the central area on the short hop international and domestic flights.

Thanks ;) makes sense now, getting excited to experience MH A380 J as OWE soon!

You will arrive at either C17, C27 and C37, the lounge is on the top floor above the train area in the satellite building, if you are departing to Singapore from a B or A gate you will need to catch that train to the central area, which also has a lounge to the right of the train arrival area as you walk away from the train.

Here's the MH Golden Lounge, above the train at Satellite C, up the back where the "golden" glow is eminating from.

I'm transiting KUL on Thursday. I know there's a CX F Lounge, MH Domestic Golden, MH Golden, and MH Regional Golden. Which one is best?

I am QF WP flying MH J.

I was in the MH Golden Lounge as pictured above. I missed it the first time but the First/platinum section is to the right at reception. The restaurant was ok. Had the lobster which was curried which ruined it in my opinion. Also had a sleep for an hour or so in the sleeping rooms. Are you sure about the CX F? I wasn't aware of a F lounge, but there definitely is *a* CX lounge.

The golden lounge in satellite C is probably the best, unsure if the F section of that lounge had finished it's renovations yet.

We will be transiting too at KL in June on our way to London and travelling in J with MAS, would be interested to know the best lounge to use

The CX lounge is indeed only one lounge but labelled as "First and Business".

The MH Golden Lounge is okay but, to me, resembles a bus terminal with one area being just a large mass of chairs. It could use something to break it up like a small water feature of even some greenery. The bar is okay but also nothing spectactular. I asked for a Bacardi and Coke with lime one day and ended up with a Bacardi and Pepsi with lemon (apparently they have no Coke). There is some reasonably decent food offerings in two bain marie set-ups in the lounge.

I quite like the regional lounge. It's smaller but seems more airy with a lot of natural light.

The domestic lounge is much like the Qantas Club at Port Hedland: nothing to speak of.

I don't think there's a real standout in KUL but the Platinum suite would be your best bet, provided you have appropriate status. I passed through it on 25 January, the day it re-opened, and there were a number of teething problems that I wrote about it another thread but it seems it's the pick of the bunch.
